Comparison By Difference:
In our daily life when ever we have to make comparisons we use various technique, one such technique is Comparison By Difference.
For example we have to compare our performance in two subjects i.e. maths and english. for this we will take into consideration the marks obtained in these subjects. Let us say that marks in maths are 35 and marks in english are 25., then we can say that I have obtained more marks in maths than english , or we can say that marks in maths are (35 -25) 10 more than the marks in english.
Thus we have compared the marks of maths and english by finding difference between them. Such a comparison is known as the Comparison By Difference
Illustration: Rita and Lucy are two sisters having weights as 50 Kg and 40 Kg respectively. Compare their weights.
Solution: On comparing the weights we see that weight of Rita is more than the weight of Lucy.
Difference between the weights = 50 Kg - 40 Kg = 10 Kg
Hence weight of Rita is 10 Kg more than the weight of Lucy.
Mamta and Ravya are two sisters having marbles 100 and 120 respectively. Hence marbles with Ravya is _____________ more than the marbles with Mamta. | |||
